From Seed to Fruition

Paddle, Connect & Belong!!

I’ve been dragon boating for 10 years, an active member in the Canadian community in Singapore, and the President of Queen’s University Alumni Branch.

In February this year, I had a seed of an idea – what if we bring out the alumni from all the Canadian universities to have a fun paddle and friendly competition – fun on the water and relive our alma mater pride!

Then on 16 May, it all came to fruition!

Paddle, Connect & Belong!!
Two boats. One splash. Endless alumni spirit.

We teamed up Canadian Alumni Network Singapore (CANsg) and the 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗲 to bring together alumni from 11 Canadian universities for a dragon boat event – with His Excellency Paul Thoppil, High Commissioner for Canada in Singapore joining the fun!

Fitness, rhythm, and community – Canada & Singapore paddling as one.

A lasting connection – Building friendships and creating new opportunities.

The kind of event people talk about all year.

Kudos to all participants – because today, we’re all winners!

Thank you so much to all the volunteers for coming together as one to make this such a successful event. We’ve decided to do it annually.
